Tim is a Partner in KPMG’s Financial Crime practice where he specialises in leading projects to design and implement effective systems to combat financial crime, with a focus on financial crime transformation. Tim works with clients in the financial and gaming sectors across the financial crime ecosystem including customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, targeted operating models, technology, data, remediation, and sanctions.

Tim joined KPMG in 2019 from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) where he spent 5 years based in France and South Korea. At the FATF, Tim led projects to develop policy on beneficial ownership, anti-corruption and virtual assets, and assessed countries against the FATF standards. Most recently, Tim was the acting Director at the FATF’s Training and Research Institute in South Korea. Prior to joining the FATF, Tim worked in the Australian Government (2007-2012) as the Director of Financial Crime at the Australian Attorney-General’s Department, and previously at AUSTRAC in policy and compliance.

Anton Moiseienko is a Senior Lecturer and Research Director at the Australian National University Law School. His work focuses on financial crime, including money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing, and the legal and policy aspects of economic sanctions.

He is the author of Doing Business with Criminals, a wide-ranging account of the objectives and history of financial crime rules published by Cambridge University Press in 2025, and Corruption and Targeted Sanctions, a monograph on the legal and policy implications of ‘Magnitsky’ sanctions published by Brill in 2019. He has also co-edited four books on transnational crime.

Anton's articles or essays have appeared in leading journals, including the Modern Law Review, American Journal of International Law, Criminal Law Review, European Journal of International Law, German Law Journal, International and Comparative Law Quarterly and Leiden Journal of International Law.

He gave testimony to the Australian Senate's Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade; the UK House of Commons' International Trade Committee; Canada's Commission of Inquiry into Money Laundering in British Columbia (Cullen Commission); and the Legal Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe – all of which adopted his recommendations. He also briefed multiple government agencies and policymakers internationally, including the UK's Joint Money Laundering Intelligence Taskforce, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Illicit Trade, as well as the EU's Freeze and Seize Task Force.

Anton was previously a Research Fellow at RUSI's Centre for Finance and Security. In that capacity, he led major multi-year research projects that explored the impact of technology on financial crime, as well as illicit trade risks in free-trade zones. He also published on a wide array of subjects including beneficial ownership transparency; corruption and fraud in the UK; and the financial footprint of cybercrime, cyber-enabled fraud and online IP piracy. His work was funded by the Council of Europe; Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office; Economic and Social Research Council; and a variety of private-sector funders.

Anton's consultancy experience includes advising the Stolen Asset Recovery Initiative, a joint programme of the World Bank and UN Office on Drugs and Crime, as well as consulting for government-funded and private-sector financial crime projects worldwide.

Gavin Stuart leads the Commercial Disputes and Fraud & Corruption practices at Bartier Perry Lawyers and brings over 25 years of legal experience to his role. He is a trusted advisor to clients on corporate governance, risk management and the development of best-practice policies and procedures, particularly in the context of corporate fraud and corruption. 

Gavin has significant expertise assisting his clients in navigating their regulatory obligations, conducting internal investigations and implementing robust controls to mitigate financial and other risks. His work spans both preventative and responsive strategies, including asset tracing and recovery in complex fraud matters. 

He has acted in cross-border disputes involving jurisdictions such as England, New Zealand, India, and the United States, and has experience in institutional and international arbitration. Gavin’s strategic approach and practical insight have made him a sought-after litigator for listed entities, large private companies, State Owned Corporations, statutory bodies, and local government authorities. 

Gavin was recognised in the Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year Awards in 2023, winning Mentor of the Year.

Marlene is a Certified Fraud Examiner and member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) with over 25 years experience in financial services. Growing up during an apartheid regime in South Africa resulted in Marlene having a deep sense of justice and sparked her passion in fighting financial crime. Her career into financial crime evolved over the last 15 years when she moved to Melbourne from South Africa.  She is actively involved with other organisations in the superannuation industry in leading financial crime disruption. She is currently the Fraud and AML Officer at Aware Super and responsible for financial crime and fraud risk management at the enterprise level.

Tim is a Partner in KPMG’s Financial Crime practice where he specialises in leading projects to design and implement effective systems to combat financial crime, with a focus on financial crime transformation. Tim works with clients in the financial and gaming sectors across the financial crime ecosystem including customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, targeted operating models, technology, data, remediation, and sanctions. 

Tim joined KPMG in 2019 from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) where he spent 5 years based in France and South Korea. At the FATF, Tim led projects to develop policy on beneficial ownership, anti-corruption and virtual assets, and assessed countries against the FATF standards. Most recently, Tim was the acting Director at the FATF’s Training and Research Institute in South Korea. Prior to joining the FATF, Tim worked in the Australian Government (2007-2012) as the Director of Financial Crime at the Australian Attorney-General’s Department, and previously at AUSTRAC in policy and compliance. 

Tim has represented Australia and the FATF internationally in various international fora, including at the FATF, G20, OECD, United Nations, Asia-Pacific Group, and the Basel Committee.
